General Manger & Winemaker
Damien is the face of Clos Henri in Marlborough. Together with the Bourgeois family, Damien brought the best of his French winemaking heritage to New Zealand to be the on-site winemaker of Clos Henri. His passion, enthusiasm and attention to detail instill great dedication and commitment from his successful young team.
Johann is our Cellar Master. Day after day he is looking after the ferments in the winery and carefully ageing the wines until they reach their best expression. He also prepares the orders going all around the world. If you can’t find him in the winery, he will be running in the Marlborough hills or lending a hand to plant some natives with his family.
Although qualified in Ireland as an accountant, Rogers love of being outdoors and working in a physical environment prevailed as he and his partner Emma moved across to the other side of the world, arriving in NZ late 2015. Starting at Clos Henri in the pruning team July 2016, this Irishman knows our vines inside and out. As Clos Henri continues to grow and develop so has Roger’s responsibilities; moving into the managerial role of vineyard manager he is excited about the future of Clos Henri and is ready to take us to the next level and beyond. He leads by example fostering strong values of teamwork, positivity and good old fashioned hard work. This, combined with his extensive organisation skills culminate to the overall success of the vineyard. Rogers other great passions include running and being outdoors with his two girls – Emma and their beautiful husky Ruby.
