Experience a Unique Marlborough Wine Tasting at Sainte Solange Chapel
The icon of Clos Henri Vineyard and the heart of our estate, the Sainte Solange Chapel, offers one of the most distinctive wine experiences in the Blenheim area. Originally built in the 1920s as a Presbyterian country church in Ward, this historic building was relocated to our vineyard in 2003 to begin a new life as our tasting room.
Deconsecrated and renamed ‘Sainte Solange’ in memory of Solange Bourgeois, the chapel serves as a bridge between New Zealand heritage and our French roots. Crafted from native Rimu timber, the chapel was lovingly restored with the addition of a wooden steeple—a nod to the Bourgeois family’s home village of Chavignol in Sancerre, France.
Today, this quintessentially Kiwi landmark provides an atmospheric setting for Marlborough wine and food experiences. Whether you are looking for one of the best cellar doors near Blenheim, a stunning Marlborough wedding venue, or an intimate meeting space surrounded by organic vineyards, Sainte Solange Chapel offers a touch of European charm in the heart of the Wairau Valley.
